Les résidences turfuristes cherchent à réfléchir au futur dans différents contextes et différentes villes mais aussi à inciter les artistes à penser le turfu à travers leurs pratiques artistiques, leurs univers, à faire connaître des outils du design, de la prospective et du gaming, à encourager les pratiques de détournement et de prototypage frugal.&#38;nbsp; 
Mais surtout, à pratiquer la philosophie comme un projet de société.

RESIDENCE.001

MULTIVERS BRUXELLO-TURFURISTE


Nous avons organisé durant le mois de décembre 2021 notre première résidence turfuriste en collaboration avec System_D. 
System_D est un festival de cinéma et de photographie pour ceux qui n’ont pas fait d’école de cinéma. Le festival fait émerger et met en avant des talents de Bruxelles qui nous emmène en voyage dans la capitale à travers les yeux de ses habitants.


Nous avons facilité une série de rencontres sur cinq jours consécutifs

 et collaboré avec 6 artistes et une chercheuse. Le fruit de ce travail collectif à pris la forme de récits, d’une capsule vidéo, d’une performance et d’une installation.

Pour cette première édition nous avons choisi le thème du poulpe (qu’est-ce qu’un poulpe ?
Quelle est la différence avec la pieuvre, le calamar, la seiche ? Il y a eu de gros débats…)&#38;nbsp;
Ce thème nous semblait propice à la réinvention de soi et à la création d’histoires turfuristes. Qu’est ce que ça fait d’avoir 8 cerveaux ou encore d’interpréter sa vie autant de fois que le nombre de tentacules d’un poulpe.

Comme le raconte une des histoires de la résidence : 

“Chaque être humain, lorsque son cœur est éveillé à la vision intérieure, possède dans le présent, une âme du turfu avec laquelle il cherche à se connecter. 

Cette âme turfuriste s’incarne dans UN être extralucide, extraterrestre et quelque peu complexe, disposant de cerveaux multiples : le poulpe.”

The Banlieue du TURFU is a dream of astronomical proportions blooming inside each of us.


Originally, the Banlieue du TURFU was like the ozone layer: a space, mostly in my mind, which allowed me to contemplate and dream of a pink sky, while protecting my gaze from cosmic rays. I wanted to explore new dimensions of existence, even if it meant losing my faith, my skin color, my identity, where I began, where I ended, or my neighborhood ...


Humanity dreamed of freedom before conquering it, it dreamed of the moon before bouncing off its surface. With my first book DU CHAOS NAÎT LA CRÉATION (FROM CHOAS CREATION IS BORN), I call for a collective dream, one of rekindling the poetic flame stifled by pessimistic narratives and other prejudices about life in the suburbs.

THE
BDT TODAY


	The Banlieue du TURFU is a collaborative effort to challenge how the banlieues are seen by its inhabitants and outsiders. This work has taken many different forms, a book, an interactive podcast, performances and workshops. Tomorrow it may take the form of a movie or a design school, who knows!
During the second half of 2020, the BDT team became residents of the New New program. The aim of the residency was to push what inclusive digital spaces could look like. During those five months the team organized several workshops in the Paris region to look at the representation of banlieues in digital spaces like online gaming platforms. 
This work has enabled us to widen our network and mature our approach. Although much remains to be done, the TURFU appears to be bright.

Building the Banlieue(s) du TURFU


	Part of the Banlieue du TURFU project aims to actively craft alternative narratives around the banlieues. 
A central part of this work consists of capturing the various narratives and values that emerge from the workshops (called Hypercubes) to find compelling metaphors, objects, spaces that can help transform the way the banlieue is seen and understood.

001 &#124; THE LAGOON The lagoon is a region made up of small islands where the rising waters have radically transformed the lifestyles and species that inhabit it. This transformation has led to a renaissance of the creative and literary industries. It seems that we have rarely seen such excitement since Bollywood, Nollywood, Kyotowood of the 2020s.002 &#124; THE OASIS 
In the middle of the desert region of the archipelago, this island has managed to work with the shamans of the Patagonian steppes to make the surrounding sand a fertile mineral. It is said that the glass created from this sand can be drunk like water.003 &#124; THE EPHEMERAL CAPITAL

This island is known for its Agoras of the Living, places of study and interspecies meetings inspired by ancient Scandinavian texts. It seems that anyone who sets foot there becomes a polyglot.004 &#124; THE NOMAD 
Island made up of mineral-mollusc lands, its architecture dates back to Greco-Persian antiquity. It regularly serves as a base for all nomadic turfurists or philosophers curious to imagine alternative civilizations: it is said that the great sage Hildegarde experienced the revelation of the TURFU there.


005 &#124; PROTECTIVE SNEAKERS

These bio-based sneakers are woven by the cyborg tree and tailor-made for the youths planning to explore worlds beyond their own banlieue on the day of their departure. Sneakers allow them to retain the knowledge and powers specific to their neighborhood throughout their journey while also transforming over the course of their journey.

006 &#124; THE INTERNET OF CHICHAS (HOOKAS)
A half-virtual, half-physical system, it allows the inhabitants of the Banlieue to come together to not only remake, but also reshape their world using every telepathic hookah connected to it. This system connects the banlieue of Earth and of the rest of the cosmos.

007 &#124; THE SYMBIOTIC KEBAB

Created as places of life and designed for completely autonomous production, they are places where sauces, meats, breads are produced in a circular manner and where anyone from the surroundings can find something to eat, accommodation, or work in the Ayahuesca fields that surround the kebab shop.
